Indiana college student locked in a cave for three days. Apparently, this cave in southern Indiana has a gate to keep people out.

A college spelunking club went into the cave, and one member was separated from the group. They left, apparently without counting the number of people before locking the gate.

The group only realised they left the fellow behind after three days. They went back and found him.

The group says it was a failure of leadership, as they have a series of safety protocols that weren’t followed.

The man said he licked water off the cave walls for hydration, and composed a good-bye message on his cell phone to his family, as he thought he was going to die there.

I used to go spelunking at IU, we had a skinny fellow, George, who went ahead. If he could not fit, we did not try to follow.
