Meanwhile, I saw a tweet by a former user of FB Messenger who was able to pull the data the app had harvested from his mobile phone, including his entire contacts list and call history. Deleting the app does not necessarily delete the data still cached on the phone, and of course the data probably uploaded to Facebook’s servers.
