The snow was shallow and weird that day, the wind blew the snow around into weird berms and hidden powder shots. Well, three of those berms/shots were illusions, there was a rock lurking underneath, an undulation not seen on the snow surface, BLAM! Faceplant.

It’s been a horrid year for snowfall, and I still laugh at this day. I have to. It helps me remember this exceptionally low snowfall year. I faceplanted that day *because* of the low snowfall.

I can’t pretend to understand all this technical stuff, ski. I’ll just point out that you don’t run into any of it in my favorite sport, which is beachcombing. Not to mention all that gear you guys haul around.
