A New Zealand naval officer stands accused of installing a camera in a unisex bathroom of the New Zealand Embassy in Washington.

The amount of dust on the camera (hidden in a duct) indicates it was there for months.

New Zealand police officers flew to Washington to seize the camera and collect evidence. They also raided the former commodore’s home (now ejected from the New Zealand Defence Forces) and seized a computer with software which controlled the camera. They also say they found his DNA on the memory card in the camera.

He asserts he is not guilty. If convicted, he faces up to eighteen months in prison. He was the most senior New Zealand defence officer in the USA at the time.

I guess electronic gloryholes are the next big thing
