re: #79 Decatur Deb

Adult involvement in the superhero world is part of the great divide between War Babies and the following generations. Our school had a rigid student-driven culture, and we were expected to be done with comics by 7th grade. Mad, Panic, and Cracked were not comics to us, even though we knew them in their 10-cent comic formats. An 8th-grader could get away with an occasional look at pre-Comics Code Tales from the Crypt.

Heh, I still remember a nun finding I had a Cracked magazine in my desk. My parents were called.

My dad was pissed off. He was upset they called him to meet the nun for a Cracked magazine.

My dad taught me a valuable lesson. Keep ‘em at home.
