Steve Wolf in re. supposed Democratic gerrymander in Illinois:
No it is not. The maps actually favor Republicans; Bruce Rauner won 58% of state House districts with 50% of the vote. It’s just a blue state where Dems normally win more votes. Their gerrymander just cancels out the impact of segregation in Chicago

I was really pleasantly surprised to see this. Had always felt embarrassed that Illinois must have a Democratic gerrymander, and feel much better!
