i blame that squarely on the d’s at that time.
they certainly could have pursued both lines
and as everyone knows “follow the money”. it can hide. it doesnt lie.

They weren’t in control of the Senate judiciary, and the GOP was setting a large portion of the agenda. I think the Democrats fell into a trap, but imagine if, after hearing about her, they hadn’t agressively pursued it. That’s why I think the GOP leaked it: There was no way the Democrats were not going to agressively pursue it, not with party getting most of the women vote.
