I grew up in a community of German women, military brides, that lived through WWII. Their excuses for Hitler were chilling. One maintained, “No, Hitler was okay until he got that brain tumor…” Seriously. Everything he did, everything he said, all his bullshit and lies and chest thumping and causes, all the murder and invasions - all of that was okay until he supposedly got “that brain tumor.”

Yup.

That’s exactly how I see Trump supporters now. Exactly. People refuse to see him for what he always was, refuse to take responsibility for allowing it, promoting it, refusing to do anything to stop his abuse of power. They aren’t surprised. No, they’re along for the ride, taking each overstep as a victory lap.

Reminds me of what even Candace Owens recently said about Nazism that it was making Germany great again until the invasion of Poland. Nazism was an evil ideology from the start so was Leninism.
