My latest FB post.

Covid Diary part: All kinds of time.
What I’m listening to: Welcome Interstate Managers, by Fountains of Wayne.
Adam Schlesinger (1967-2020).
Adam wrote the song, All kinds of Time, along with his partner, Chris Collingwood. The phrase is often used in football when a quarterback has great blocking and can take his time making a play and being the hero. The writer of the song knows this is not true, that the time of the quarterback, like all of us, is limited. And the writer of this post knows that the songwriter is dead.
Not everyone makes it. More are going to be taken. The virus doesn’t care about your feelings or stock portfolio. The virus only wants one thing and that is to find a host and reproduce.
As I slowly recover, and I do mean slowly. I made it to the cranky part; I wanted to lash out at everyone, especially when they tried to give me advice. Under the circumstances that seemed wrong. And I realized, yet again, that I was lucky. I would survive. Perhaps learn something on the way.
“He’s got all kinds of time
He’s got all kinds of time
All kinds of time
He’s got all kinds of time
All kinds of time”
We know this is not true; we are both haunted and redeemed by our music.
Best,
Stuart
