The cops just “intuitively” knew they were decent folks and wouldn’t blow town. I can’t imagine what sort of cop “intuition” led to that sort of conclusion; it’s a mystery, white? Er, right?

The district attorney claimed they were under surveillance at home. If that is true, how did they manage to dodge it? If that is true, it seems like one or more cops let them go. (It’s irresponsible not to speculate.)

And the idea people had they might commit suicide? If they were going to do that, why not just do it at home rather than leading a bunch of cops and federal marshals on a chase through southeast Michigan?
