re: #844 ggt

It seems to me that Charles highlights all the Whackos. Since the change of administration —Whackos we are not used to seeing have come out from under their rocks.

That is very true. But the other fact is that the whackos have gotten more whacky.

Really, that kind of anger starts and ends with fear.

The right is so terrified that Obama is going to be something he so far has not turned out to be. He is far from perfect, and I strongly dislike his foreign policy, especially towards Israel, and Iran, but he is actually pretty far from an uncompromising far leftist. In fact, he is (so far) basically a centrist who leans left. It also seems clear to me that his more leftist ideas are slowly but surely getting modified by hard reality on the foreign front.

And he does try to work with the GOP. He gets spit on every time he reaches out his hand it seems, but, he does try.

When it turns out that he has strengths and weaknesses, but is by no means nearly as far left as he is painted to be, simply stating that fact only enrages them.

But where does the rage come from. Fear, plain and simple fear.

Again look at the smears…

Obama is the big bad black man (who is either painted as a Muslim or a secularist) who will destroy Christianity and take all of America away from white people.

To some Jewish folks, he is the one who will offer up Israel like Chzeckaslovokia. I am honestly still afraid of that possibility.

However, I am also hopeful that reality is sinking in for him on that front.

I pray that I am correct on that. Honestly, all I can do about that is pray and speak up for Israel when I get the chance.

But back to the fear… the sick and irrational fear that leads to hatred and feverish outbursts. The right is scared green of loosing its position permanently. It is causing them to see monster under the bed. Any suggestion that the source of the monsters (as they see it) might not be so bad, can only possibly cause a violent reaction.
