re: #68 🌹UOJB!

I’ve never been able to wear contact lenses. No matter what was tried there was always pain. Found out that I can’t wear them due to severe astigmatisms in both eyes.

I had severe astigmatism in both eyes, to the point where, at age 15, they were so bad they couldn’t grind lenses for my glasses. The tension in the glasses frames would cause them to buckle. So I got early hard lenses. It took a while to get used to them, but outside of one change a year into it in my worst eye, the hard lens stopped the astigmatism from progressing. I wore them for over 50 years, until cataract surgery, when the doc replaced the lens. Since one eye was always worse, he did one for reading (the bad one) and one for distance, and it is perfect! First time in my life I can see!
