So many countries will recalculate their security strategies and not in a way that we’d hoped for prior to November.

Mueller and North Korea create a dynamic that makes 45 more dangerous than his default which is already horrendous.

The common view of Kim Jong-un is that he’s an “unstable, irrational madman”; on the contrary, he realizes that it is Trump who is unstable and irrational and is trying to create a deterrent nuclear capability to prevent the US from attacking his country. I also think that Kim realizes that Trump is all hat, no cattle (as they’re fond of saying in Texas) so Kim can bluster to his heart’s content, reasonably secure in the knowledge that Trump will back down because Trump is, at heart, a coward.

At least, that’s Kim Jong-un’s calculation. He could very well be wrong - much like the historic mistake Josef Stalin made in regard to Adolf Hitler; Stalin refused to believe that Hitler would attack the USSR (even when supplied with overwhelming evidence on the very eve of Operation Barbarossa) because he’d miscalculated that Hitler was a rational actor, a miscalculation that led to the deaths of millions.
