Do those folks know that there are elections this year? Are they registered to vote for this year? There are important local and state elections this year.

Every election matters. All elections matter, not just the presidential year ones.

The GOP needs to be thwarted and defeated at every level, precisely to stop the kind of misogynistic batcrap insane fuckery they’re engaging in at the state level in Alabama, Georgia, Missouri, Ohio, and elsewhere with the express intent to overturn Roe and knowing full well that these laws they just enacted would be unconstitutional as per Roe or Casey. Heck, they’ve even admitted that the laws they just enacted are unenforceable because there’s no way to do what they proposed.

That’s how insane the situation is, because they know that if somehow these laws get to the Supreme Court, they’ve got a stacked right wing extremist bench that will give them the holy grail of overturning Roe/Casey, and it wont be long before other civil rights and voting rights are directly attacked.

We’re already seeing the voting rights across multiple states under attack because Roberts overturned key provisions of the VRA despite the factual evidence showing that there’s still need for enforcement actions. The GOP controlled Congress refused to act to restore the VRA and provide new guidance, so we are watching the states where Democrats can be poised to gain seats in Congress or retake legislatures enacting new provisions to thwart voting access. Voter suppression methods are what the GOP is doing to make their changes permanent (coupled with the loading the courts with right wing extremists).
