Sitting here printing flyers for our Voter Registration/Education drives. Yesterday at our table outside the library, I started shifting the message from VR to mail-in or absentee walk-in voting, especially for codgers. Almost no-one was interested in that, most were determined to use the polling place in November. (It’s right across the parking lot.) One old guy made it plain: “Soldiers went to war and died for it. I’m not going to be scared away from the voting line.” Hoping he wasn’t a Republican.
I am generally in favor of in-person voting over mail-in….under normal circumstances.
200,000 dead in one year from an easily transmitted virus is not “normal”…
