re: #880 buzzsawmonkey

I do not care how many pledges against the “Fairness Doctrine” are made for the kept press. Such statements are the equivalent of “Palestinian” leaders who say one thing in English, and another in Arabic. Obama already has a history of saying one thing and then doing something entirely different; sometimes what he does is better than what he said he would, sometimes worse, but the consistent strain running through the history is that one cannot believe any of his pledges.

Accordingly, I have no reason to believe that the “Fairness Doctrine” will not be reimposed; all that is certain is that if it is, it will not be called the “Fairness Doctrine,” but “The Local Grassroots Democracy Media Initiative,” or some equivalent euphemism. Clearly, this Mark Lloyd person is more than ready to impose some limitation on media, and equally clearly, more than capable of coming up with a fresh name for it.

The idea that we’re supposed to believe Obama and his entire administration had some epiphany on election day and decided to abandon their roots is absurd.
