Unfortunately the Dems didn’t regain control congress until 2007 to try and start regulating the markets again.

So the Dems have been in charge since 2007 (just before all this started ,,, fancy that) ,,

Imagine a building run by an apartment manager.

A negligent apartment manager. We’ll call him Tex. Doesn’t do the fire codes, doesn’t replace the asbestos, no pest control, no background checks on tenants, no nothing. Just makes money, allows methheads to run rampant, screw standards of living and safety.

Then Tex leaves! Perhaps Tex was fired.

New apartment manager comes in! His name is Cal. Starts looking around. Realizes that 60 units in his rental need to have everything stripped to the studs and replaced, that the whole complex is a tinderbox, ready to go up. Cal starts to fix this stuff, but it’s years and years and years and years of neglect, so it takes a long time, and as it’s being fixed, it’s drawing attention to the true horror of all the problems in the complex. Cal of course gets all the blame for the building being shit, because now he’s in charge! You’re in charge, why are you in charge of such a shitty unit, Cal? Why haven’t you done anything?!?!?!

So yeah.
