Years ago, I read the memoir of a woman who grew up in and out of Hitler Youth camps. Really an interesting read. At one point in her diary she records that their reading group has finished Mein Kampf, and adds “Thank God.”

Fascinating book. At one of the groups she stayed with, one of her bunkmates was the daughter of a Chinese businessman and a German woman. She was allowed to be part of the group but couldn’t wear the full HY regalia because she was Asian. Bizarre mundane insights into an insane world.

In the Arab world, Mein Kampf is second only to the Quran in book sales.

A perennial best seller.
