Sort of, with the exception of some fairly recent developments an AR-15 in 7.62 is still probably to operate via direct gas impingement instead of a gas piston. So the gun will probably be more accurate because it doesn’t have the reciprocating mass of the op rod traveling back and forth over the barrel, but the action is also going to get very dirty quickly. Especially because 7.62 ammo is notoriously filthy, it never had to be clean because the AK’s loose tolerances were incredibly forgiving.
