Wait… I thought if you put more money in the economy that means more people would spend money, meaning sellers could raise prices due to higher demand, which is, in effect… inflation.

Also, I didn’t realize that 2009 was basically a deflationary year, but apparently it was. Oh, and inflation seems to be ticking up the last couple of years.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but Peter Navarro is one of Trump’s leading economic advisers. And there’s no economic theory in which what he said makes any sense.

Inflation ticking up - yep. It’s been running too low for a decade. People hate inflation when they buy stuff, but they love it when they look at their mortgage payments as a percentage of their income.
