I have a good friend who is Cuban (grew up in Miami). When I first met her, she was Republican (although she was deeply ashamed of Palin). Now, she is a staunch Democrat. A couple of government shutdowns hastened her departure from the Republican Party. The one going on now is probably going to strengthen her resolve about Republicans.

Sadly, my mom is all aboard the Trump Train. My aunt has been opposed to Trump pretty much from the get go. Not sure about my uncle, mostly because I’ve never really talked politics with him. And I’ve no real idea where any of the extended family is at now, politically.
