Ok, I generally love the evening programming on MSNBC. But am I the only one who finds Ari Melber’s obsession with rap and hip hop kind of cringy? It’s become almost a constant thing with him online and on air.

I also adore Joy Reid, but her social media has mostly become her hairstyle of the day and fashion based. I could give a damn about that, even if I did, it would be way out of my financial capability. She doesn’t extend it to her show, but come on, she’s so smart and capable. Why the need?

I think a lot of those decisions are coming down from the office. MSNBC seems to be trying to get their whole lineup to be a bit more edgy and “exciting” in an effort to get their ratings back up. I’m feeling (sometimes embarrassingly) get-of-my-lawn-ish about it too, but I only watch about a third of the MSNBC that I used to before they decided that brow beating Biden would bring in more viewers.
