Right. Here comes the debunking of another myth.

How much aid do we give as a percentage of our budget? Most Americans guess it’s about a fourth of the total. We “feed the world”. We “support them lazy furriners”. We “pour money down ratholes”.

The real number? Less than one percent. Less than 0.2%, in fact. Norway and Denmark? Four times the percentage.

Yeah, that’s still quite a lot, what we do. But the ber-generous Uncle Sam does not exist.

I count the billions of $ we spend in defending others, ie, shipping lanes, NATO etc, as aid.
