All of us paying attention know it will. What all of us paying attention need to do is not to lament that McConnell won’t let it pass. We all need to be telling everyone to call their congressperson to require a vote on it. Angry, not resigned.

This is where Chuck Schumer needs to start earning whatever he earns as Minority Leader - Chuck and every other Senate Democrat, for that matter. I’m sure Leader McTurtle is going to do his damndest to make sure HR1 never makes it out of Committee (ideally, not even that far) - but each and every Democrat on Capitol Hill* ought to be making sure that the public knows exactly who is keeping this (I am assuming) popular bill from even being considered. And, as importantly, push the GOP to articulate its objections - in public: and call them out loudly when/if they trot out the stock lame excuses about “voter fraud” or whatever.
