I dunno: not to be a downer or anything, but I can’t imagine that Mitch McConnell hasn’t spent a considerable amount of his career making absofuckinglutely damn sure that his home-state electoral base is safe. And Kentucky is a pretty “red” state: they seem only to have elected (D) Gov. Andy Beshear last year because his (R) opponent - Matt Bevin - was a unpopular Colossal Douchebag even by Republican Colossal Douchebag standards: IIRC, the GOP took virtually every other statewide office. Sen. McTurtle losing his seat would certainly be an occasion of sublime rejoicing, but it doesn’t, sadly, seem particularly likely.
