Mindblowing and when you think that they’re supposed to have a handle on the comings and goings in the markets, that they were spending so much time glued to the boob-tube on their desktops it’s little wonder that the SEC has itself a porn problem and fiddled while the markets came crashing down.

/needs a cigarette after that one…

Seriously though, this is a problem not only because these officials were watching porn instead of the markets, but the oversight of the employees was so lax - they didn’t seem to have a problem dishing out slaps on the wrist for these kinds of infractions whereas a similar infraction would find an employee fired from a private company for violating computer access rules (wasting computer/IT department time in protecting networks from virus/spam/spyware attacks), creating a hostile work environment, etc.
