Powell’s contention that OWS is about protesting “those they think are doing to well in our society… ” is utter bullshit, and just as destructive a meme as saying the protest itself is unpatriotic.
This has nothing to do with peoples’ success. Of course. This has everything to do with the stacked deck. Of course.

I think it’s implicit in his statement that “doing too well” is a direct result of the “stacked deck” you refer to. Powell doesn’t hate the rich; he is “the rich” as are most of his friends and colleagues. He is hardly some sort of socialist, and he’s done pretty well himself without having to rely on a stacked deck.
