Has the GOP gone too far with Trump? Not according to the Trumpers.

I guess at my age I’ve concluded that things can go on for a lot longer than I had expected when I was younger.

As a nation-state we can probably bumble along for quite some time. We can probably make an argument that with the election of Reagan the US started down an atavistic path that has not been reversed. At best Obama was a pause. But as we see with the new new Cuba policy, what Obama hath done Trump can undo.

Same with the Paris accord.

This was the problem with Obama’s 8 years - too much of the positive change was only a surface paint of executive privilege. The reason the ACA has been so hard to undo is because it is an actual law, not an executive decision.

I suspect Obama knowing that the GOP would try to erase a lot of his legacy attempted to codify a lot of his change into law via legislation rather than EOs. I’ll agree with you that the start of this begins with Reagan.
