This is Very Old West. And we have had thousands of sandbags in our lives, TYVM. We finally Lost the Farm after 5 big river floods, the last in that gigantic flood down the Missouri-Mississippi-Illinois in 1993. The water was 14 feet deep on our “high ground.” Seen it, got the t-shirt.
Yikes. That’s a lot of water.
We’re on the valley side-slope of the North Platte about forty feet and about a mile away, so we should be safe from flooding here (unless the water tower collapses, then we’re done).
