I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before (this is becoming reflexive as I age and get rolly eyes from my kids), but a friend who is in the healthcare industry worked on parts of the ACA. He said it was purposefully constructed—to the degree possible considering a variety of limitations—to link together in ways that would make it very difficult to dismantle. Can’t think of a good analogy, so I’ll go with “bank bag with exploding paint packet that will blow up in the face of anyone who tries to open and steal” (politically, of course, because hospitals and insurance are still finding ways to exploit the ACA in real ways). But apparently McConnell is convinced that it won’t matter to their voters if GOP politicians have purple paint all over their hands and faces.
