I used to be naive and just thought “They should emigrate legally.” And while I still wish people would, I know that it’s not that simple and I know it’s definitely not that simple if you’re fleeing what a lot of these people are fleeing in Central America.

If we lived in a world where people could just choose to live where they wanted, they wouldn’t need to come here.
