Shortly prior, to, and during the initial stages of, the refugee wave from Syria, rumors began coming about Russian Federation involvement in Syria, then people started fleeing head over heels.
The refugee wave gave a boost to various alt-right outfits across the West.
Now, what if the refugee wave was intentionally caused?

Good foil, or do I need to scrap this batch?

I wouldn’t toss the sombrero aluminio just yet. Maybe the Syrian refugee wave wasn’t originally “intentional”, but it has certainly had the hell exploited out of it (or more precise it was hell that was exploited) by various (bad) actors both West and East.
