Right now, Iran is a tinderbox internally. As some of you know, there are protests mostly around the anger that Iranians feel towards the gov after they admitted IRGC shot down the Ukraine Airlines aircraft

The protests here don’t have anything to do with the US and never have, and weren’t going to simply go away because of the assassination of Soleimani. The Iranian protesters are pissed that the government lied to them again and killed a planeload of Iranians and Iranian-Canadians through deadly incompetence.

Also, probably the best thing for the US to say about these protests is nothing. The government would love to smear the protesters as US-backed traitors.
