Going into WWII, very few people above the proletariat and almost none above the middle class were NOT antisemitic, and at least a large minority if not the majority openly—it’s why Hitler thought recruiting the US to the Axis was a done deal.

(Hate using socialist terms, but the fact is pre-New Deal, and arguably pre-WWII, the CPUSA was right that our working class was quite literally the people Marx was writing about, and any who weren’t racist fucksticks prolly still thought of themselves as the people Marx was writing about).
