I don’t think that the GOP will ever say “we learned our lesson” or accept any blame. They will say that they were thwarted by people who want to see America fail.

The GOP hasn’t yet learned the lessons of the Great Depression. In fact, the entire Movement Conservative project is a wildly successful GOP attempt to avoid any reality-based policy making in response to the issues of that era.
