Wait a minute there. If you are indigent and need a court appointed lawyer, you are not going to get a $1,000 an hour hotshot attorney. You will get a pro bono attorney who is likely relatively new, or maybe an attorney who contributes his time.
So no, Zimmerman does not deserve to have the taxpayers pay a “fair reimbursement” for O’Mara. Unless O’Mara is willing to work cheap like the others. He can’t hire a million dollar attorney and then claim to be indigent and make the taxpayers foot the bill.

What the reimbursement rates are for O’Mara is not up to you, me, or anyone else but the courts, who decide such matters. O’Mara would never get anything approaching what they would get paid representing a paying client and I’m sure they know it; they’re likely doing this (in part) for its PR value.
