It’s not a case of stupidity. It’s a case of fear, misery, and denial.

What, you think every girl that gets raped by her father just trots right down to the police and goes through the process that starts with the father being called and told to pick up his daughter? You think that rohypnol and drunk-rapes don’t happen?

You’ve not been hearing when some woman who tries to claim rape gets told it’s because she went to a party or dressed that way or took a walk in the wrong neighborhood or any of that crap, and the other women who’ve seen it desperately try to avoid dealing with the hatespew?

Have you walked through a protest line with a woman? Have you thought about how hard it might be to do so when you’re already hurt and confused and afraid?

Yeah, thought not. The word for what you’re lacking is empathy. You might want to read up on it.
