Michigan? I smell Posse Comitatus and sovcit Copperheads..
Or did Southern Michigan join the Confederacy while the Upper Peninsula remained Union?
I need to check my history books…
But really, I can accept the notion that a southerner might fly a Confederate flag in memory of their heritage and family traditions, but a display like that in Michigan of all places is meant entirely as racist and intimidating.
Also, a nitpicking historical note: No Confederate Battle Flag ever flew above a State Capitol, they would have flown the Stars and Bars design, which was removed from the battlefield because it was too easily mistaken for a Union Stars and Stripes flag.
