Judge Ellis is almost 79 years old. Is it possible that he has begun experiencing some form of cognitive decline? I cannot imagine what else would prompt him to praise Manafort as someone who lived a blameless life, instead of a model of corruption who until now escaped the prosecution he richly deserved.

A couple of possibilities:

1) Watching FOX.

2) A long career in the US criminal justice system, which is designed to incarcerate black people, protect white people, enrich wealthy people, and generally promulgate the American caste system.
