Open carry states are awful - and discriminate against those who aren’t white. We see this time and again (Tamir Rice, John Crawford, Philandro Castile, etc.) with deadly results.

I haven’t toted out this old chestnut in a while:

If you want to defend your home and family with a gun, then I guess that is your good right, and nobody is coming after those rights.

But if you want to use a gun in a public-shooter setting, you need nerves of steel, years of experience and training, along with excellent situational awareness.

That is not a skills set you can simply purchase over the counter at your neighborhood sporting goods store.
