This is the fantasy they’ve been nursing for the longest time: Trump not as the hapless moron allowing a long-predicted plague run rampant through the population, but instead the “victim” of a bioweapon attack by America’s most hated enemy.

A participant in the bioweapon attack if that was the case, since he lied rather than respond to it. There’s no scenario where Trump comes out as a good guy. You have to start from that conclusion, and abandon reason to get there from here.
