Does Major Hassan killing soldiers at Fort Hood count as Far Left? That’s a convergence point between radical Islam and the left, isn’t it? He was certainly against the U.S. army fighting in Muslim countries.

There is far more convergence between Islamists and the far right, especially the religious right. Just a few areas of convergence off the top of my head:

Science denialists? Check!
Outrage over the ‘decadence’ of modern society, sexual mores, womens rights? Check!
Hate homosexuals? Check!
Anti- separation of church and state? Check!
