I didn’t read it that way either. But there is, IMHO, a much better way to make the argument that it’s what the article actually says without making the incredible leap that the person is lying about what they believe.

Different people read things differently…i’m all for pedantically debating the “i don’t think it means what you think it means” angle, but making it personal (i.e. “you’re lying”) is counterproductive and unnecessary.

Also counterproductive, IMO, to not accept a person’s clarification but instead, insist that they “take back” what they said in a particular statement. It’s very easy, when one is posting frequent comments and a thread is moving fast, to have one that is on occasion not as clear as it should be. Better to ask a question to clarify, before beginning to throw out accusations about a person’s state of mind. In my most humble opinion …
