Hell most people I know have always used the anthem as time for a quick piss or to get something else to eat or drink.

People who do not grasp the underlying concept behind things like patriotism, manhood or religion are the ones who cling the closest to the arbitrary and often superficial symbols and rituals that come to be associated with them.
