Trump’s a vain egotistical bully who also happens to be a racist know nothing. Everyone knows how to deal with him internationally, which is why his trade war has gone so poorly, he’s given away the farm to North Korea, and his Iran “policy” is a mess. Everywhere you turn, it’s a disaster, but Trump frames it all as success and his base loves him for it, even as their fortunes sag because the trade wars are hitting his base hardest.

Agriculture and manufacturing are taking it on the chin because China is slapping on targeted tariffs on agricultural products and Trump’s idiotic tariffs on raw metal imports means that manufacturers here (all of them) are seeing higher costs, which they can’t all pass on to customers.

And all throughout it, Trump and Co. shift the blame to the least powerful, the worst off, the most marginalized, and sell the idea that if we just squash them flat, if we slam our boots into them repeatedly and hard enough to punish their existence and criminalize their very being, then God and America will rise up and truly shower them, as God’s chosen, with love and eternal power.

And it fucking works, it fucking works all the fucking goddamn time.
