I once asked an astrophysicist friend how much larger Jupiter would look in a Martian sky. “Not perceptibly larger.” apparently Jupiter is so fucking far away that moving a couple hundred million miles closer to it doesn’t really make it noticeably bigger. Same thing with the sun. It’s so damned big that from Mars it really doesn’t look that much smaller to me there.

I once asked a similar question about constellations as seen from a planet in the habitable zone of Alpha Centauri. The answer was not much different. One thing we would notice would be an extra star in Cassiopeia though… ;)
