The massacres will continue because people want you to understand that massacres aren’t inherently bad, the right kinds of people are entitled to do massacres—vaporizing Yemen children because they might be Houthis, —and if you play your cards right you’ll have the option to do further massacres of approved subjects—protesters, rioters, traitors, immigrants, perverts—and be a hero for doing it.

The problem is that occasionally an individual imagines themselves entitled to do the wrong kind of massacre.

I hate that it would take a massacre at the NRA convention to change gun laws, but that would be when Republicans accept that gun control is good.
