I’ve wondering about voter turnout being down and have a theory, hard to prove without quality polling. Two factors that would have been a clearly decisive edge for Trump:

1. Misogyny Effect: how many men in every ethnic group did not vote for Clinton because she was female? How many females voted misogyny?

2. Minority Effect: how many PoC and maybe latinx energized to vote for a black man in last election just stayed home?

These factors aren’t Trump accomplishments or victories but they benefited Trump. Both factors together could be a few million votes, more than enough to make a diff in the EV.
