It occurred to me that NRA cultists want the AR-15 rifles for the same reason psychotic mass shooter do: They can mow down a crowd of people without giving the victims a chance to overwhelm the shooter and beat him to death while he re-loads or re-cocks. For the psycho, this is the people in a mall or a classroom. For the cultist it is the zombie-like swarms of inner city blacks who will pour into the ‘burbs “as soon as the welfare checks stop.” I’ve seen it expressed in those terms more than once.

So what, then is the qualitative difference between “NRA cultist” and “psychotic mass shooter”? The former simply manage to keep a bit more of a lid on their urges?
