I find it funny that they mentioned Jones county. Some personal and Texas history. Jones county is north of Taylor County, where Abilene is located. Inside Jones county is the town of Anson. Anson Jones was the name of my elementary school, which was also the name of the last President of the Republic of Texas.

And this concludes this episode of Connections.

At least he was only a one-time traitor (to Mexico) if only because he didn’t live to 1861. Has there been any discussion about taking the Texian Rebels’ names off any of the things named for them, or am I very lucky that I’m not physically in the state, because the very act of suggesting it would still get me shot?
